After all my conversations with Edith – especially since the Russian attack on Ukraine, I feel under the obligation to make this appeal:

Don’t trust anybody who tells you that war must be waged to achieve peace!

Don’t believe in the claim that there are enemies with whom one must not negotiate!

Investigate the intentions of politicians and their media personnel who are using old enemy images to claim that Europe is threatened by a war of aggression!

We’ve already seen that.

Consider: What purpose would Putin have in attacking a NATO country?

And on the other hand: Who benefits from this unsane rearmement? And who is on the losing side of the misdirected billions in tax money?

Questions that have occupied our WILPF for over 100 years.

We must not avoid them in this highly dangerous year of 2025.
