It’s way back in 2000, we friends visited Geneva for a Social Forum meeting. We met Edith Ballantyne and Krishna Ahooja Patel. It was a wonderful meeting and discussion with both legends of peace women. We wanted to start a WILPF section in India. A WILPF section was existing in India in 1975. Dr Sushila Nayar who was Gandhiji’s physician, was also International WILPF President. But then after, due to some or the other reason, the section did not work for a few years. Then in 2001 the section was restarted because of these two great peace women, Edith and Krishna, we started the WILPF Nagpur branch. There were 100 women who witnessed a seminar on globalisation. From then we have never looked back. We will miss you Edith but keep showering your blessings from heaven. Amen.
